The solutions developed by Roche Diagnostics can only be accessible to patients via a large network of healthcare providers. These healthcare providers include laboratories, hospitals, and GP clinic pathologists and nurses. In the Asia Pacific region, the healthcare landscape is particularly dynamic, where new healthcare service providers are emerging in different areas, making it challenging to identify and track changes of new and existing providers.
Although Roche Diagnostics is working with market research and database companies, it is often the case that there is unreliable and not up-to-date information of the market players. As a result, much effort is required for local Roche teams to identify and reach out to the right market players. Roche Diagnostics is exploring how technology, such as web mining solutions, can access publicly available information about hospitals, clinics, and laboratories to provide accurate and up-to-date information.
With the vast amount of publicly available information from different internet sources, how can we automatically map a country’s healthcare landscape at the granularity of individual institutions following a web-mining (or other) approach?
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a prototype solution that could be tested in the Indonesian market for functionality, utility and desirability.
The solution should crawl all the sources of unstructured, publicly available internet information (websites, social networks, directories, etc.), and structure it back into a reliable source of information as a directory and map format
Furthermore, a social influence network can be mapped to see which professionals and which institutions are related to each other
Designed to be scalable (can be rolled out for every country)
Possible Use Case
A Roche Diagnostics Indonesia manager wants to reach the relevant pathologists in the country to engage in a new Pathology solution. She/He can consult Healthscape to get up-to-date information about all pathologists available by location and their contact details.
Information about interrelations between companies and professionals is also made available on Healthscape.
